1. Is there a working smoke alarm on every storey and outside their bedroom, less than 10 years old?
2. If they have a gas furnace, fireplace or attached garage, is there a CO alarm on every storey?
3. Would someone in the family be alerted if a smoke or CO alarm went off while they were alone?
4. If they fell and could not reach a phone, could they still call for help?
5. Is there a handrail on both sides of every staircase, and a grab bar in the shower?
6. Is the path from the driveway to the door lit at night?
7. Can family or paramedics get in without a key hidden outside?
8. Do they know to hang up on callers asking for money or gift cards, and call family back first?
9. Does someone check in with them every day?
