Home security in Hamilton for century homes and Mountain bungalows
Hamilton's housing is some of the oldest we work in: brick century homes in the lower city, wartime and post-war bungalows on the Mountain, and newer builds in Stoney Creek, Waterdown and Ancaster. Older homes have their own security and fire safety gaps.

Century homes
Older brick homes often have basement windows at grade, original wood doors with simple locks, and side doors down narrow alleys. Upgrading the deadbolt and strike plate on a rear door and putting sensors on basement windows usually does more than adding cameras. We avoid opening plaster walls and use wireless devices wherever possible.
Older electrical, older alarms
In older homes we often find smoke alarms that are long past their ten-year life, or a single alarm for a whole house. Ontario law requires a working smoke alarm on every storey and outside all sleeping areas, and CO alarms where there is a fuel-burning appliance, fireplace or attached garage. We check both on every visit.

What a walkthrough in Hamilton looks like
We start with your Safety Score answers, then check the things the score can't see: the date on every smoke and CO alarm, the doors you actually use, Wi-Fi strength where a camera would go, and who needs a code. You get an itemized quote in writing and decide in your own time.
